A new resident :-)
A few days ago a Crocodile moved onto Thanda and made its home at one of the waterholes on the reserve. After reports that a Crocodile was seen outside the Thanda fence on one of the public roads, members of the Thanda Wildlife Department located the animal, opened a gate nearby and let the reptile enter the reserve. It made its way straight to a nearby waterhole where it often can be seen to be sun-bathing.
During the dry season Crocodiles are known to move long distance between water sources.
The picture above shows two Egyptian Geese walking past the large reptile and complaining loudly about the newcomer.
